Free WIFI at Kidsgrove Station

blue_wifiRail passengers will now be able to access free, fast internet at Kidsgrove Station thanks to an investment programme delivered in partnership with WiFi provider The Cloud.                                                                              

The move is the latest stage in the train operator’s plan to ensure passengers have access to wireless internet across its mainline route network, both on board trains and at stations. East Midlands Trains began introducing internet access on board its London trains three years ago. [Read more…]

Kidsgrove Tesco’s rememberance tree

Tescotreedec2013Tesco store in Kidsgrove are displaying a ‘Rememberance’ tree for Christmas.

Customers have until 22nd December to fill in a star with a message to place on the tree to remember those who have passed away and won’t be here this Christmas.

A small donation is helping raising money for Tesco’s chosen charity this year which is Diabetes UK for which they have raised over £9000 so far.

Call for speed cameras on #kidsgrove bank

Kidsgrove road 2aA car crash that closed the road at the top of Kidsgrove Bank for several hours has led to calls for speed cameras to be sited there.

The car knocked down a telegraph pole and bent a lamppost near the junction with Mobberley Road as it travelled along the A50 towards Goldenhill. [Read more…]

Suspected arson attack in Clough Hall Park

A fire has gutted the pavilion in Clough Hall Park which fire services believe may have been started deliberately.

Fire crews from Kidsgrove and Sandyford attended the scene early this morning, (18/11/2013), and after dealing with the fire a spokesman said that they believe an accelerant such as petrol may have been used, the police are now investigating.

The group, ‘Friends of Clough Hall Park’ are “gutted”, they have worked hard to bring Clough Hall Park back into community use organizing events and opening a café for footballers and park users at weekends, this latest setback has left them ‘devastated’.
