Safari 2018Alsager Rotary, Inner Wheel and Tangent Clubs are running the much-loved Alsager Animal Safari and need local businesses and residents to help make the event a success.

The event will run from the 26th May-17th June to coincide with the run up to carnival. Individuals, families and local businesses can enter by collecting a form with a minimum donation of £4, from local businesses displaying an Animal Safari poster. Libraries consultation begins

Tipping point for hardcore DIY

alsager tip 2From 15th January a small charge for the disposal of rubble was introduced at Cheshire East Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) including the Hassall Road site in Alsager.

Cheshire East Council say “We have a statutory duty to accept household waste, free of charge but waste created from home improvements, repairs and alterations to your home or domestic property is not classed as household waste and therefore we have no legal duty to accept it.

“We have introduced the charging scheme to allow you to continue to dispose of materials for which you may otherwise need to hire a skip or source another outlet. Our alternative option is to refuse to accept any rubble at the HWRCs .” [Read more…]

Channel Swim by Alsager 17 year old

Channel SwimAmy Wyatt, a 17 year old member at Alsager Bridgestone Amateur Swimming Club has recently taken part in a Relay Channel Swim on 2nd September 2017.

Amy says, “I have been swimming for as long as I can remember and have been a member of Alsager

Bridgestone for over 10 years. During this time I have swam competitively in numerous swimming galas, achieving both personal and team successes. Alsager to keep direct London rail link

Station Oct 2017 low resThe new operator for the West Midlands rail network has confirmed that the direct train service to London will continue to call at Alsager, Kidsgrove, and Stone stations.

There were concerns that the new operators, West Midland Trains, would change the route when they take over in December meaning passengers would have to change at Stafford to get to London but they have now confirmed that they are keeping the route. [Read more…]
