Alsager Station volunteers buzzing at news of award

Alsager Station has won an award for the best small community project in the Community Rail AwardsAlsager Station

The ‘Bee Friendly project’ at Alsager Station is a partnership initiative which is helping to sustain wildlife by providing pollinating plants and bee boxes within the station gardens.

The Community Rail Awards is an annual awards event run by ACoRP (the Association of Community Rail Partnerships).  They were set up in 2005 so that the unsung heroes and heroines of the community rail world would have their hard work and dedication publicly recognised and rewarded.

Cheshire East Council are changing the way leisure services are delivered by forming a new trust to run leisure centres in the region.

Fast and furious in Alsager?

Reports of boy racers disturbing residents on the Fairview Car Park late at night has provoked an angry reaction from some of the youths involved.

Residents in Fairview Avenue have complained to Cheshire Police that they are being kept awake at nights by screeching tyres, loud music and revving engines coming from the Fairview Car Park, with other complaints relate to litter and possible driving offences.
