Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council (NBC) are proposing changes to the current Dog Control Orders.
Changes to legislation mean that Dog Control Orders will cease in October 2017 unless a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is created to replace them.

Funding has been secured from the Illegal Money Lending Team’s Community Fund for a Community Financial Inclusion Project focused on the Miners’ Estate, Kidsgrove.
The main aims of the project are:-
· To improve community awareness of Loan Sharks and how to deal with them.

Biddulph Town Council are investigating a scheme to improve the area around the Victoria Centre adjacent to the Sainsbury’s store.
At present the scheme is in Concept Design Stage looking at improvements that could be made to the gardens.
Funds to pay for the scheme would come from £60,000 of Section 106 money given to the Town Council to carry out works in the area left over from the development of Sainsbury’s Store. This money will have to be given back to Sainsbury’s with interest if not expended by the 2018 deadline. [Read more…]
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are reminding residents to follow safety advice as part Chimney Safety Week.
This timely reminder comes after a house fire in Biddulph was caused by a stray ember from an open fire. Crews were called to reports of a chimney fire in Park Lane, Knypersley on Thursday September 7. When they arrived they found the ground floor well alight. [Read more…]
The new operator for the West Midlands rail network has confirmed that the direct train service to London will continue to call at Alsager, Kidsgrove, and Stone stations.
There were concerns that the new operators, West Midland Trains, would change the route when they take over in December meaning passengers would have to change at Stafford to get to London but they have now confirmed that they are keeping the route. [Read more…]
Cheshire East Council has sealed the formal adoption of its landmark Local Plan.
The decision comes after a planning inspector last month gave Cheshire East’s strategic blueprint for shaping development in the borough up to 2030 a ‘clean bill of health’. [Read more…]
