Alsager Rotary, Inner Wheel and Tangent Clubs are running the much-loved Alsager Animal Safari and need local businesses and residents to help make the event a success.
The event will run from the 26th May-17th June to coincide with the run up to carnival. Individuals, families and local businesses can enter by collecting a form with a minimum donation of £4, from local businesses displaying an Animal Safari poster. Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council are working together on a new Joint Local Plan which is now ready for public consultation. The Joint Local Plan will shape where new housing, roads and development will take place in the future between 2013 and 2033.
Cabinet members at both authorities have agreed to send the document, which identifies a number of potential sites in Kidsgrove for possible housing and employment developments, out for a month-long public consultation. [Read more…]

The Co-operative Bank have announced they intend to close their Kidsgrove branch this spring as part of their plans to close 27 branches nationwide.
A statement by the Co-op states the reasons for closure, “As part of our decision to close we assessed how many customers used our Kidsgrove branch and the type of transactions they were undertaking and the type of products they hold with us.
“As a result of the changes in how customers bank with us, we are experiencing fewer visits to our branches, making some of them unsustainable. This is why we have unfortunately chosen to close our Kidsgrove branch on 8 May 2018.” [Read more…]
The future of Kidsgrove Library will be decided after a three month long consultation by Staffordshire County Council.
The consultation is over the best way forward for Staffordshire’s libraries in an effort to save a further £1.3 million by 2021.

Goldenhill Golf Course may be opening again as a deal to sell it off is believed to be near completion.
The course which includes a driving range, clubhouse and shop was closed in 2011 and has been available to lease from Stoke City Council since but has fallen into a state of decline becoming a target for travellers and vandals in recent years. [Read more…]
Last year, plans for investment at Kidsgrove Railway Station were delayed by Network Rail.
