Two hours free parking on Fairview Car Park

Following months of negotiations between Asda and Cheshire East Council an agreement to offer free parking for up to two hours on Fairview car park has been reached.

Asda Deputy Manager Rob Capon said: “Asda has been in consultation with Cheshire East Council for several months in reference to Fairview car park.

I am happy to announce that from Monday 30th June, the short stay car park will be free parking for 2 hours. The very top of the carpark, near to the library will stay as pay and display (long stay) this will be enforced by Cheshire East Council. The rest of the carpark and also the small carpark, opposite Dominoes/vets, will be 2 hours free parking for everyone.

There will be ANPR cameras installed soon, to monitor the 2 hour parking limitation. Asda has negotiated this to benefit not just their own customers but also the small businesses, which have been hugely affected since the parking charges were brought in”.

This is great news for the town centre and will be a massive step forward in supporting the shops and businesses, residents are being asked to do their bit by using it and shopping local.
