Top award for Alsager station projects

Alsager Station gardens low res 4 May 2014For the fifth year running, the Cheshire Best Kept Stations awards scheme has recognised the positive impact made by community rail projects at Alsager station. At the annual awards ceremony held at The Grange Theatre, Northwich on 12 January, Alsager station was named Overall Winner of Cheshire Best Kept Stations 2015. This latest award acknowledges community projects at the station throughout the year, such as that with the Alsager WI for station gardens improvements, station twinning with Rose Hill Station to share good practice, a rail safety project for Betley Primary School children, marketing the station through Make Tracks for Alsager, and the continued excellent work by the station volunteer team that has made the station gardens ‘magnificent’, winning Silver Gilt at North West In Bloom.
