Christian_Aid_Logo.svgAlsager Christian Aid Committee wishes to thank all those who supported, collected for and donated to the annual House-to-House local collections for Christian Aid.

A total of £3,311.46 was raised in Alsager through donations in the familiar red envelopes in the House- to – House and church envelope collections .

House-to-House collecting is how Christian Aid Week began over 60 years ago, and it still raises £6.5m across Britain and Ireland every year.

Local churches provided some of the forty volunteer collectors who took to the streets of Alsager for the House-to-House collection during Christian Aid Week 2019 in May.

A further donation of £104 from the United Reformed Church’s Thursday Fellowship brings the total raised, in May, for the work of Christian Aid to £3,415.46.

On behalf of the local Christian Aid group, Margaret Snowdon says, “We are very grateful for the generosity shown by local people. The funds raised in Christian Aid Week will help Christian Aid to continue its efforts to make births safer for mums and babies and help to provide the much needed support for many life- sustaining projects in some of the poorest parts of the world”.
