Side street parking could be limited in Biddulph

Stringer-streetTime may soon be up for motorists who park their cars all day in one of the town centre’s side streets.

Parking bays with a one hour maximum stay limit could be introduced to Stringer Street to stop drivers leaving their cars there all day following complaints from traders and residents about parked cars blocking the street.

The move would also create extra parking spaces at the north end of the town which could help boost trade. Andrew Hart, town and district councilor said: “Stringer Street has always been a narrow road, but by extending the yellow lines around the corner and changing the duration you can leave your car in a space, it will act as an over-spill for the town centre.”
