Knype Pool 5 mile race and fun run

The annual Knype Pool 5 mile race and fun run organised by Biddulph Running Club takes place on Sunday 28th February 2016. As usual all profits will be donated to the Biddulph Mayor’s Charities and Biddulph in Bloom.

Entry fees are £7/£9 (affiliated/unaffiliated) for the main race and are online only, £2 on the day only for the 1m Fun Run. All main race entries are online via Bookitzone, Fun-run entry is on-the-day only. Online Entries will close at 23:59 on Thursday 25th Feb 2016 (unless race limit of 220 is reached first). Sorry, no on-the-day entries for main race. The Fun Run starts at 10.30am and the main race starts at 11.00am at the bottom car park adjacent to Knypersley Pool (please register at least 15mins beforehand: 200yd walk to start-line from registration). Age Limits: 16yrs minimum on the day for main race. Under 9’s on Fun run must be accompanied by an adult There are cash prizes of £35/£25/£15 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Mens & Ladies on the day and cash prizes of £10 to 1st Men & Ladies V40, V50 V60 – which will be posted out. Free hot soup and bread roll at finish line and a commemorative mug to all finishers of main race. Parts of the course are X-country-like – recommend off-roaders! PARKING If you can possibly car-share then please do so to ease parking congestion. As you can imagine, 220 entrants, fun runners, family and friends all descending on Knype Pool will impact the small amount of available parking. Free Park & Ride This year Biddulph Running Club have worked with Sainsbury’s and Hollinshead Coaches to put on a FREE park and ride facility from Sainsbury’s carpark, Biddulph. They are encouraging all to use this facility to ease parking congestion at Knype Pool. This free facility is for participants, friends and family. Free return once the main race is over. Bring some old warm clothes to put in case there is a short wait for the return bus. Details of free Park & Ride to and from Knype Pool Race: Sainsbury’s Carpark, Meadows Way, Biddulph, ST8 6AJ. Biddulph Running Club will be at Sainsbury’s co-ordinating parking and Hollinshead coach will be ferrying runners/families/friends etc from 9am till approx, 10.30am, every 15 mins or so. Hollinshead Coach will return to Sainsbury’s carpark after the main race (note the supermarket has a cafe area, open from 11am).
