Kidsgrove Sports Centre will reopen on the 25th July!
It is a momentous occasion and the accumulation of 5 years of hard work, dedication and passion from our community – without which, none of this would have been possible. It has been nearly 5 years since the centre was closed. It is fair to say those following years have been a rollercoaster, however despite all of the challenges and obstacles in our way we have reached our stated aim and one our community has been longing for.
Kidsgrove Sports Centre has undergone a £7.5million refurbishment, along with considerable additional investment from many a wide range of funding partners and will now be owned and operated under a charity ownership model. This means that there are no shareholders to please or profit making. Instead every single £1 spent in Kidsgrove Sports Centre, will go back into the centre and our community! We are passionate about our community and providing the opportunities for everyone to improve their physical and mental well-being, which is why we have tried to ensure that despite being a new facility, with rising costs, it is affordable to as many people as possible.
The facilities within the centre are looking amazing. It is a clean, safe and modern facility complete with swimming pool, large gym, spin and dance studio and sports hall. In addition we have community spaces / meeting rooms as well as free Wifi available throughout the building. Speaking of Wifi, we must say a huge “Thank You” to Alan Carter from CTR Services, wholm is exceptionally modest, however has installed most of the equipment which you will see and utlise day to day, within the centre. Alan and his team have also installed our audio, tv’s, digital signage and supplies all of the communications to the centre. We can not speak highly enough of the quality of work or level of service received. It is the support of many local businesses which has really helped us – many willing to supply to us at cost price, simply because they believe and share the vision we have for a charitable community owned centre.
We currently have some amazing reopening offers on our membership packages. You can become a member from as little as £22.50 – which is a remarkable price for a package which is providing swimming, gym and classes! If you don’t wish to be a member then you are still very welcome, all of our facilities can be used on a pay as you go, casual basis, full details of our prices are on our website along with timetables for classes and the swimming pool or just give us a call.
