Friends of Clough Hall Park

The Friends Group are organising an Autumn Hunt for primary school children to be held on Saturday 5th October 2013, 11am to 1pm.

This follows three previous hunts, two Easter Egg hunts and one Queen’s Jubilee hunt, which were a tremendous success.

Leaflets are to be delivered to all the primary schools in the Kidsgrove area giving full details and it is hoped that residents give it their full support and continue to expand Clough Hall Park’s community involvement.

Monies raised will be used to regenerate the park and hopefully provide much needed play equipment.

Tree Carving

Two years ago the 100 year old horse chestnut tree on the mound had to be cut down following severe storm damage and being diagnosed with canker

Many residents were angry and saddened that the tree had been cut down and so The Friends of Clough Hall Park decided to raise money to have some carving work undertaken.  A tree carver was appointed and a squirrel and owl have been carved on the two large remaining branches.

This was made possible by a grant from Kidsgrove Town Council Community Chest Fund.  Many people have visited the site and numerous photographs have been taken. Hopefully this tree will still remain in another 100 years time.
