People from Biddulph are being encouraged to do something great with a plate to help out an older person this winter as part of a unique community food-sharing project. Winter puts many extra pressures on older people, preventing them from getting out, not eating properly and, with fewer visits from people, this can lead to social isolation and loneliness. But one scheme making a difference is Casserole Club.

Hunter and the Bear Friday February 26 – Foxlowe Arts Centre Exciting young roots rock band who are surely destined for a bright future. Chiming guitars, authoritative vocals and big choruses, they are certainly one to watch in 2016. They have played some big gigs already including last year’s Acoustic Festival in Uttoxeter. £8 advance/ £10 door 8pm start.
Martha Tilston Wednesday March 2 – Biddulph Arms Martha has been an enchanting presence here since July 2008 and it is always a pleasure to welcome her back. Excellent support too from Kim Tink. £10 advance/ £12 door 8pm start.
Brooks Williams & Findlay Napier Wednesday March 9 – Biddulph Arms Songwriter’s Circle as we present two more fabulous performers on one evening. Cadbury Easter Trail Become an Eggsplorer for the day! Join us this Easter weekend for the Cadbury Easter Egg Trail around the garden. Run around the garden, hunting high and low, under rocks and in trees for the hidden eggs! Discover them all to find the easter bunny! If you manage to track him down you can then enjoy your delicious Cadbury egghead! The prize at the end of your adventure will be a Cadbury Egghead. The annual Knype Pool 5 mile race and fun run organised by Biddulph Running Club takes place on Sunday 28th February 2016. As usual all profits will be donated to the Biddulph Mayor’s Charities and Biddulph in Bloom.

Biddulph Town Christmas Lights Switch on Saturday 28th November A free family event with free all day parking!
Market stalls and funfair attractions in the High Street from 3pm, followed by entertainment on the town hall frontage, with the Lights Switch-on at 6pm followed by the arrival of Santa in his sleigh! Free visit to Santa’s grotto within the town hall. Rock and Roll, along with one or two seasonal festive favourites will again be provided by Biddulph’s oldest Boy Band ‘Terrinova’ . The band, billed as older than Mick Jagger and better looking than Keith Richards, comprises two former mayors Frank Harris and John Jones, along with local rockers Terry Tatton, Graham Edge and Roger Jones; together proving beyond all doubt that, you’re never too old to Rock n’ Roll.

Biddulph Moor Christmas Lights Switch On Saturday 5th December, festivities start at 4.15pm, and the tree will be lit at 5.30pm. There will be carol singing, live music, hot food, stalls, a barbecue and of course a visit from Santa. It will all take place in the centre of the village, by The Green, at the top of Woodhouse Lane. A warm welcome is extended to all.
