CCTV cameras are to be installed at Biddulph Recycling Centre to allow users to check how busy it is before they go.
Live streaming from the new camera system, due to be installed this year, is expected to result in residents staggering their trips reducing queueing at peak times.
The improvement is one of a number of changes being made following the Councils move to bring the service back in house.
