Nicola Burndred was invited to attend the King’s Garden Party on May 12th 2026 in recognition for her outstanding charity work raising funds for The Jordan Burndred Memorial Fund to arrange heart screening sessions in Biddulph for Cardiac Risk in the Young.
On their 13th screening day in February in memory of her son Jordan Burndred, Nicola was invited to attend the Biddulph Town Council awards to receive the Outstanding Contribution to the Community award in recognition for raising over £100,000 for heart screening sessions in Jordan’s memory. The Community award was presented by the Lieutenant of Staffordshire who then nominated Nicola to attend the King’s Garden Party to acknowledge her tireless work following personal loss, organizing fundraising and testing sessions, educating communities, raising awareness, and potentially saving lives through quiet conviction, dignity, and determination.
When the offical letter came from the palace inviting Nicola to attend the party she said, “This is an absolute honour and really makes me look back with pride and how far we have come in keeping Jordan’s legacy alive. I’m sure he would be so proud of us.”
Appeal – the cost of screening days has risen to £7000 and to help raise funds Nicola is organising a fun day in Jordan’s memory and is looking for donations/raffle prizes. If anyone can help any support or donation would be much appreciated: https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/jordan-burndred/
