Biddulph Festival 2019

Festival parade aug 2019The Biddulph Festival is well under way with lots of great events still to look forward to.

Every year the Festival hosts a variety of arts inspired, community and charity events for all ages and budgets from 13th June to 31st July.

The Launch day parade on 29th June was bright and bold with a carnival theme. It was great to see so many taking part and enjoying the morning in our lovely town with the sun shining! Professional Samba dancers led the parade followed by local school children, Brownies, Biddulph in Bloom volunteers, Biddulph’s Diving Club and Stilt Walkers. Over 160 children took part in the parade and all looked fabulous in their array of carnival costumes. Entertainment was provided on the Town Hall steps following the parade. We were treated to Samba dancing from both the professionals and little ones from Our Lady Grace School. Tribe Dance Academy showcased their best moves as well and Ian Lawson sang a few requests.

Old favourites such as Biddulph by the Sea, Churches together Open Café, Musical gigs, Flower festivals, Ukulele day, evening walks, Sequence Dancing, Classic Car Show, Family Fun Day and Variety Show are all offered again.

There are lots of people working behind the scenes throughout the year to ensure a successful Festival. Special thanks go to the committee members, Biddulph Town Council, Event Organisers, Mayor, Town Crier, Counsellor’s and Biddulph Fire Service who kindly put our bunting up throughout the town. We must not forget our residents who attend our events and help make the Festival a success year after year.
