Kidsgrove Victorian Christmas Weekend

 

victorian christmasThis year’s Kidsgrove Victorian Christmas Market and offical Christmas lights switch on will take place on Saturday 28th November, 10am-4pm at the Town Hall.

The event will include the Kidsgrove Rotary Santa Clause Grotto, Victorian Tea Rooms, traditional and vintage stalls, local hand-made products, Christmas entertainment and professional crafts. Year on year, the Victorian Market in Kidsgrove has attracted hundreds of people from far and wide. This is an event not to be missed.

This event is educational for all of the family and will give you the opportunity to step back in time to imagine Kidsgrove in the Victorian era. Many people dress up for the occasion in authentic period attire to enhance the Victorian ambiance.

Mistletoe and Wine

Councillor John Parsons will again be making available some amazing homemade wines from his cellar at the “Chateau Town Crier” with such flavors as the exotic and intoxicating lavender, pineapple, strawberry plum, parsnip, lemon and white beetroot! and seasonal punch (mulled wine). He will also be selling his fantastic holly wreaths from just £5 each and grave pots for just £3.50. This year, by request, he has some artificial displays and door wreaths (at ridiculously low prices), proceeds will be in aid of the Town Criers nominated charity. PLUS John has a fantastic gift idea for Christmas… up-cycled spirit bottle lamps – a really unusual gift from just £15 each.his fantastic mulled wine made to a traditional old English “wassail” recipe. Don`t be late or you will miss out! John was cleared out of his items very quickly last year due to such a high demand.
