Jazz at Goldenhill

Jazz at Goldenhill 2016A great night of music and merriment is lined up with Harry Hussey and Lily’s Weepers and an evening of jazz, courtesy of the North Staffs Accordion Club.

We are pleased to be able to unite the players once more, having done so for the last four years, to sell out audiences. This session will be in our new venue, Goldenhill Workingmen’s Club, with a larger and very pleasant room. By popular demand there will again be lots of well-known jazz tunes and plenty of fun.

Weepers’ member Eric Newton will be in Australia for the winter once again leaving Harry to take on the clarinet role as he did seamlessly last time Eric was missing. There will also be guests joining the band and Terry’s whacky jazz quiz. Can you believe that we are offering all this again (and yes, with the fantastic Christmas cake, mince pies and sherry) at the wonderful bargain price of £4.00? Well, it’s true.

Nationally acclaimed jazz accordionist, Harry, now living in Glasgow, has several recordings to his name and has played alongside such stars as Matt Munro, Norman Wisdom, Rolf Harris and Anthony Newly. He is a favourite at accordion and keyboard festivals throughout the country and spends much of his time in France, with his accordion of course.

Wherever they play, local jazz group, Lily’s Weepers, have a name for good entertainment and have mastered the knack of filling venues for their performances.

Tuesday, 19th January, 2016, at 8 p.m. Admission £4.

Venue: Goldenhill Workingmens Club, Stoke on Trent, ST6 5SH
