Green Angels Open Day at Hassall Green Nature Reserve

Green Angels Social Media Graphic - open dayHassall Green Nature Reserve will be open to all from 10am-4pm on Saturday 10th August, as we run exciting nature-based activities and launch The Land Trust’s FREE Green Angels training programme.

National land management charity the Land Trust is bringing its award-winning and free Green Angels environmental training courses to adults across South Cheshire and North Staffordshire, giving them the chance to gain practical skills through hands-on learning.

The Green Angels programme offers introductory level courses to adults in subjects ranging from fence construction and dry stone walling, to forest bathing and wildlife gardening. The open day at Hassall Green is a great opportunity to visit the nature reserve and learn all about the exciting opportunities available in the coming years. There will be various hands-on activities for people to enjoy, including Ranger-guided walks, forest school activities, outdoor cooking, bug hunts and bee talks.

Open to everyone over the age of 18, Green Angels courses are specially designed to help trainees develop new skills, encourage better awareness of the natural world and provide inspiration for further training or employment opportunities. Visitors of all ages are welcome to come along to the big launch, enjoy the outdoor activities, find out more about Green Angels, and experience a tour of the site, where they will learn about its history and how the areas are being managed to allow wildlife to flourish.

Parking at the nature reserve is limited, so visitors are encouraged to make it a full day out by walking or cycling via the Salt Line and Betchton Lane, or the Trent & Mersey canal and Roughwood Lane.
