alsager civic april 2014Alsager Town Council is set to progress with the planned refurbishment of Alsager Civic which will improve major elements of the building such as a New Heating System, Insulated Roof Recovery, New UPVC Double Glazing Windows, and Kitchen Upgrade, thanks to a £50,000 grant from funding body WREN.

The money, awarded by WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund, will be used to upgrade the Heating System which includes new automated energy efficient boilers, new energy efficient heat emitters, and associated plumbing and mechanical works.

The Asset Manager of the Town Council Mr. Eddison Attu believes the refurbishment of Alsager Civic will give the building another 40 years’ life which will make a huge difference in the continuous service delivery to the local Community.

He says: “This project will provide a real boost to the people of Alsager. It’s fantastic that WREN has awarded us this money and we’re really looking forward to Alsager Civic taking a new shape over the next 5 months.

WREN is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community, biodiversity and heritage projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund

Richard Smith, WREN’s grant manager for Cheshire, says: “We’re delighted to be supporting the refurbishment of Alsager Civic and pleased our funding will make such a difference to so many groups of people. WREN is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities and we’re looking forward to this one having a positive impact very soon.”

Mr Eddison Attu hopes the refurbishment of Alsager Civic will be completed by 15th July 2017 and as a result, the benefits of energy efficiency of the building will begin to be realized within the first year after the works.
