Alsager Civic Lunch Club appeal

Luch club appeal March 2016The Alsager Civic Lunch Club (ACLC) has issued an appeal for volunteers to help in the kitchen and dining room.

Organiser Anne Black said, “In some ways the Lunch Club is a victim of its own success. We are more popular than ever and it is becoming increasingly difficult to staff the kitchen. Preparing the meals isn’t as difficult as people may think and new volunteers are supported every step of the way by an experienced team.”

“We want to give our volunteers a positive experience and we plan that, if they want to, volunteers can do a turn of supporting the elderly diners in the dining room followed by kitchen prep.”

Jan Lancaster (pictured) said, “Anyone used to preparing a meal for their family would find it quite straightforward to help in the kitchen. The lead cook organises everything all we need to do is help with the preparation and clearing up.”
